With more than 30 programs the Economic Axis will boost the development of municipalities

In order to comply with the instruction of Governor Martin Orozco Sandoval to bring to each municipality the strategies and actions undertaken by the State Government to make Aguascalientes the most competitive and cutting-edge place in Mexico, the heads of the Secretariats of Economic Development (Sedec), Tourism (Sectur) and Rural and Agribusiness Development (Sedrae), held a working meeting with mayors and representatives of the 11 municipalities.

In this regard, the head of Sedec, Manuel Alejandro González Martínez, said that the intention of the Economic Axis is to jointly offer more than 30 support and funding programs to promote and strengthen the local economy. He extended the invitation for the municipal instances to become windows of diffusion and reception of productive projects seeking to participate in the announcements that will be issued starting next week.

On the other hand, the Secretary of Tourism, Humberto Montero de Alba, provided the mayors with access to some of the programs promoted by his office, mainly in the areas of Promotion and Dissemination of State Tourist Attractions; Specialized Training and Professionalization for the Tourism Sector and Magical Towns; he also invited them to join the Wine Route project, which also seeks to boost the economy of the municipalities.

The Secretary of Rural and Agribusiness Development, Miguel Muñoz de la Torre, highlighted the strength and potential of the agricultural sector in Aguascalientes, pointing out that support will be directed to four strategic guidelines: efficient use of water, productive reconversion, marketing and value generation and support to small producers. He added that during the year the projects will be announced according to their requirements and the seasonality of the productive activities.

Finally, the town mayors recognized the work being done by the state government to consolidate the business community and entrepreneurs, so they reaffirmed their commitment to join this initiative that will improve the quality of life of families in Aguascalientes.
