The governor of Aguascalientes, Martín Orozco Sandoval, announced changes in his cabinet. The adjustments included Manuel Alejandro González Martínez, who was the Secretary of Rural and Agribusiness Development (SEDRAE) and now heads the Secretariat of Economic Development (SEDEC), replacing Ricardo Martínez Castañeda.
But who is the new leader of this agency?
Manuel has a degree in International Commerce with a specialty in Agribusiness from the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM); he served as General Director of Agroindustria de Aguascalientes S.A de C.V and later as Financial Director of Nutrifreeze in Houston, Texas, a company dedicated to the commercialization of Mexican food for the Hispanic market in the United States.
He later had the opportunity to work in another professional field as a mentor in some business acceleration and scaling programs, as well as a board member of several local companies and also of a bank with regional presence.
Gonzalez Martinez joined the State Government to head the Ministry of Rural and Agribusiness Development (SEDRAE), a position he held for 3 years, before his new appointment.
As head of the SEDEC, Manuel will seek to keep the state at the forefront nationally in terms of economic growth, attracting investment and generating employment. His management will be one of open doors and of approaching the different productive sectors, in order to offer the necessary conditions to achieve more and better welfare opportunities for businesses and families in Aguascalientes.
