In recent years, Aguascalientes has become an important business partner with Germany. Our state’s active participation at the Hannover Trade Fair had a lot to do with it.. For the second year in a row, the state attended this important technology forum, with the stand called “Driving Mexico From Within.” Aguascalientes was the Mexican state with the largest offer of academic programs and business opportunities.
Representatives from Solinda, GP Desarrollos, GC Peasa, Maindsoft, Vesta, Finsa, Omega Consturcciones, and Vega, Guerrero & Asociados were in attendance. Also attending were students from Universidad Panamericana, as well as officials from the Department of Economic Development, SEDEC.
SEDEC officials met with representatives of Sweden, Qatar, and Germany to discuss joint projects in areas like energy, technology, commerce, tourism, education, and labor. Both students and officials attended business meetings with Festo, Siemens, and Audi to share best practices in efficient energy use, harnessing natural resources, automation solutions, and intelligent cities.
Additionally, an alliance was created with the UN’s Industrial Development Organization, UNIDO, to promote Aguascalientes’ commercial development worldwide.
International corporations like Hexagon, Continental, and NRB Bearing showed interest in starting alliances with companies and educational institutions from the state. Others signed cooperation agreements so that local companies increase their presence abroad. Such was the case of Polish firm Classic Metal and Aguascalientes’ Solinda.
“Being part of this delegation has been gratifying. The state of Aguascalientes made it clear that we want to become a benchmark in attraction of foreign investment. We are confident that the bloc that’s becoming stronger between states of the Bajío region will provide an even bigger boost and help us have a better presence to keep drawing investment,” mentioned attending business owners from Aguascalientes.
